Silently Singing

It is putting yourself in places
where you have the space to feel.
It is taking the time to listen
to the quiet of your soul.

It is being in awe of wonder
and the things you cannot explain.
It is being new and renewed
and it is feeling.

It is changing your perspective
to see things you’ve never seen.
It is the possibility
of finding a different path.

It is feeling with your soul
not seeing with your eyes.
It is letting colour and light
wash over you.

It is staring into the clouds
on the very darkest of day.
It seeing the shape of a heart
where the sun shines through.

It is finding yourself when you are alone
when no one else is around.
It is singing with all of your voice
even if you don’t make a sound.

  1. Andrea, this is such a joy-filled poem. Your message is not 'silent' at all. Points made loud and clear. Enjoyed!! (Actually I think it would make a good song....sung with guitar accompaniment.)

  2. The last stanza just sums up the true beauty of being alone and not being lonely. Nothing finer than being at peace with yourself. I really enjoyed this so much!

  6. You said it. And illustrated it most beautifully in word and image. Just as well to be reminded of this at times.

  10. Beautiful... especially:

It is feeling with your soul
    not seeing with your eyes.
It is letting colour and light
    wash over you.

  12. Yes, very true. Sometimes we just want to be with ourselves and just want to search our soul.
