FREE

This is a new song...
please click the link to listen.

v. There’s nothing left of me here
this town should bear your name
Your face is everywhere I go
    nothing looks the same

v. I still can’t sleep at night
I wake up on my own
Wishing you were here with me
    but you’re never coming home

Ch. Why do I still love you
when you walked out on me?
On your way to another life
to a place where you can be (free)

v. You filled up all the dreams I had
of a love, of a life
They all followed when you left
I cry out for them at night

Br. There must be something left of me here
somehow, someday I will find my way
A trace of someone who I used to be
somehow, someday I will find my way

v. Walking through the shadows
     searching for my light
    My battle rages on
   this is how I fight.

Ch. Why do I still love you
when you walked out on me?
On your way to another life
to a place where you can be (free)

  1. I really like your poem/song, Andrea. You will find your way.

I tried to listen to it, but it didn't play. I will come back later and try again. Sometimes these things have momentary glitches.

  2. oh very nice...like the song...will have to wait til i get home to listen as soundcloud is unsupported and wont fit through the filter at school....the chorus is strong and def addresses the sticky spot of staying in relationships...

  3. Well-told heartache Andrea. Don't we wish we could just turn our heart off sometimes? This is very relatable and felt. I feel like I want to hug the speaker of this piece!
